Cherney Tourney 2007 announcement and registration flyer

Welcome to the Cherney Family Web site! The purpose of this Web site is to communicate family history information and educate present family members about our family's past.  I hope to accomplish this by presenting an assortment of information, both genealogical and human interest in nature. An additional purpose is to simply have fun through the sharing of our family's current activities.

This Web site was created solely for our family. Any family member who wishes to contribute to the Web site is most welcome, whether it be through submitting stories, pictures or newspaper clippings, or just surfing the site to enjoy the past and present of our family. Any suggestions or submissions can be made to me at: jcherney@merr.com

The information covers the extended Cherney family and related family names in our past including: Stodola, Roidt, Kacerovsky, Kabourek, Schroll, and Koupelik.  We will try to continually add information as time allows.

Specifically the site contains the following types of information:

  • Cherney Family activities - check here for Cherney family annoucements, photographs from recent trips and other items of interest pertaining to the activities and adventures of our family today.

  • Photographs of the past - includes photographs of the family dating back into the 19th century. When known, we will also provide a caption, or brief description of the context of the photo.

  • Cherney Family writings - contains remembrances of our family history written by present-day family members.

  • Genealogical records - Mainly vital records including birth, death, and marriage records. Also includes passenger lists, census and land records.

  • Church records - records researched at St. Lawrence Church, in Stangelville, WI.

  • Newspaper articles - includes mentions of our family in local papers, including interest stories, marriages and obituaries.
